Enduring Shares

An Investment in Christian Camping

Every summer the Central New York District comes together at Chambers Campground to celebrate the joy of Christian camping. Family Camp brings us under the tent to experience a moving of the Holy Spirit through uplifting and often convicting messages by top-notch speakers from around the country. Many of our Pastors, Lay Leaders and friends accepted Christ as their personal Savior and or received their call into the ministry while attending our youth and children’s camps. We are committed to seeing this vital ministry at Chambers Camp continue.

Traditionally, the evening services under the tent have been the main venue for raising the funds necessary to keep Chambers Wesleyan Campground and Ministry Center operating. Year after year a goal has been placed before the people and an appeal has been made night after night. Wouldn’t it be great if we could just worship God every night without all the fundraising? Well now we can… I am excited to introduce you to Enduring Shares.

Here’s how it works. Chambers Campground has an initial offering of 2500 Enduring Shares available for purchase at $25 per year per share. Individuals, churches, youth groups, ladies ministries and any other group that loves Chambers Camp can purchase these shares. For each share purchased, you will receive a numbered certificate that represents your ongoing annual support of your campground (Quarterly purchases of $100 or more will receive in $100 certificates). You will in a very real way be partnering with Chambers Camp.

Once you have purchased your Enduring Shares you will receive an annual renewal letter from the camp with a statement for the value of your shares. At that time you will have the opportunity to purchase additional Enduring Shares or, if need be, reduce the number of shares you own according to your financial situation. Shares relinquished will become available to others for purchase.

Because Enduring Shares are perpetual, once all 2500 shares are sold there will be no need to take pledges or mention money under the tent beyond telling the number of shares available. Offerings received each evening will go towards specials needs or projects. By taking our attention off of “fund raising” we can more readily focus on the reason we come to Chambers Camp in the first place: worshipping Jesus Christ.
